Within the framework of QEST Rootfull is delighted to be supported by Filippo Nassetti to pioneer new material research.
Filippo Nassetti, is a groundbreaking leader and researcher merging organic forms, computational methods and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The research integrates advanced digital and computational methods into the current design workflows, pushing past the limits of 3D printing alone, and pointing towards a new era of programmable, sustainable design and craftsmanship.
A 3D tessellated print was generated from an image of coral and duplicated in beeswax for the root to grow on.
These images document some of the initial outcomes of this process, which were exhibited at Material Matters, as part of London Design Festival 2024.
