Phoebe English x Rootfull

Rootfull partnered with Phoebe English to cultivate root on deadstock cotton muslin, which was bound together through the root’s natural binding property. The dress was created without stitching, relying solely on a series of knots and ties for construction.

Phoebe English is an award-winning slow fashion brand, embracing a circular design approach to craft high-quality, sustainable clothing, always mindful of the planet’s limited resources. Each collection is created as a response to global warming, the collapse of Earth’s systems, and the loss of biodiversity—issues that the global fashion and textile industry has significantly contributed to.

The slow fashion movement prioritises sourcing sustainable materials in an attempt to reduce carbon emissions, distance and fibre miles, as well as careful and limited production runs, promoting conscious consumerism.
